Mansfield Town’s Liam Roberts and Stephen McLaughlin reached personal appearance milestones in their League One outing against Peterborough United on Saturday. Roberts, who signed a new two‑year contract last summer, celebrated his 50th appearance for the club since joining from Millwall. McLaughlin marked his 250th game for the Stags, having first arrived at the One Call Stadium in September 2020 on an initial short‑term deal that has been extended multiple times. He was a key member of Nigel Clough’s promotion‑winning side in 2024, making 25 League Two appearances after returning from a lengthy knee injury.
Both players are central to the Stags’ campaign, missing only nine games between them across the 2025/26 season. Roberts earned multiple Player of the Year awards in his debut season, while McLaughlin has been a consistent presence since his arrival.
Despite the milestones, Mansfield were unable to secure a win. Peterborough secured all three points with a stoppage‑time goal from Harry Leonard, who cancelled out Michael Smith’s equaliser in the third minute of injury time to give the hosts their first league win of the season.
Mansfield now turn their attention to a home fixture against Luton Town this weekend. Luton sit third in the League One table with four points from a win and a draw, while only Bradford City have won both of their opening fixtures this season.
